Celebrate love this Valentine’s Day in Virginia wine country!

Nearly every winery offers something special this month– a chocolate and wine pairing, live music, blind tasting classes, wine dinners– grab your special someone, your best friends or your galentine’s and plan a fun and delicious day sipping and savoring! Check out just a few of the fun events taking place below.

Crosé Rosé Release at King Family Vineyards

February 14  | 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Skip the sweets and celebrate your Valentine’s Day with a bottle of Crosé. King Family Vineyards will be releasing the 2017 vintage on February 14th. Local caterer, L’etoile will be selling hearty and delicious soup, so cozy up by the fire and enjoy!

Blind Tasting Classes at Valley Road Vineyards

February 17 & 18 | 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.

Participants will learn from Valley Road vinistas how to identify specific characteristics of wine varietals such as nose, mouth feel, and flavor. Then, their knowledge will be put to the test during a blind tasting of six Valley Road wines. The cost is $15 per participant, and tastings are limited to groups of 8 at each timeslot. Library Series: Wine Class with Virginia Samsel at Blenheim Vineyards

February 18 | 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Curious about the definitions of organic & biodynamic wine? Want to taste some unique natural wines from Spain? Join Virginia Samsel, Curator and Foundation of SubRosato, in the Historic “Library” of Blenheim Vineyards for this distinctive opportunity to learn while having fun! Limited to 15 people.

Pastry Cooking Class at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards

February 21 | 6:00 p.m.

For those who may be celebrating V-day a little bit later, join Sous Chef Tori Cosner and demystify the world of pastry. Learn tried and true methods and secrets behind Pippin Hill’s dessert menus. From baking 101 to decorating and plating, take your sweets to the next level. Following the class, enjoy a chef prepared dinner and 2 glasses of wine. Save room for dessert – you’re making that course!

Chili Cook Off at the Eights at 8 Chains North Winery and 868 Estate Vineyards

February 17 | 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There’s a Chili Challenge in town!  868 Estate Vineyards has thrown the gauntlet and challenged their good friends over at 8 Chains North to a chili cook-off.   Join both at 868 Estate Vineyards and 8 Chains North Winery for chili tasting – then vote on the chili you like best.   Enjoy a wine tasting at each vineyard (standard tasting fees apply) and then you’ll be treated to a complimentary sample of each winery’s own signature chili.

Sweetheart’s Soiree, A Night of Dinner & Dancing at Breaux Vineyards

February 14  | 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Sip on a delicious sparkling while enjoying  hors d’oeuvres before indulging in a three course delectable meal paired with favorite Breaux wine selections.  Menu expertly composed by Chef Author from Grandale Vintners Table.  In addition to wine and food live music will entertain you during dinner, as well as get you and your loved one dancing the rest of the evening in the beautifully decorated Grand Acadia Room.
